Had some issues with transmission shuddering between 2nd/3rd gear. I made an appt and when I dropped the vehicle off, Mr. Klein (owner) was very focused on listening to my explanation of the issue. During the work process, I was kept up to date. It took a bit longer than I expected, but I'm all for taking the time that is needed to do the job right, and the owner also mentioned that he had recently lost a technician the week prior to my drop off so I suspect that was the main reason. Mr. Chappell (service advisor) was extremely pleasant and polite to work with for updates. At the end of the day, my truck is now shifting smoothly, and I am very pleased with the work. Cost was roughly in line with what I was expecting as well. I will not hesitate to visit this shop in the future as I may have a need.

Always a pleasure doing business with Robert and his team. This was the first time I brought my 2018 4 Runner to him for service. Was tired of getting nickeled and dimed by Toyota.

I can’t thank Robert, Darius, and Hardy enough for their help in getting us back on the road home to SC. We were visiting Raleigh and got stuck waiting in line at the Costco gas pumps when we couldn’t put the van in gear to move up to fill up. Thinking the worst (possible transmission rebuild or replacement) Robert was able to diagnose the problem and replace bushings for much less. I highly recommend anyone who lives in the area to consider them not just for transmission repair but general auto repair as well. If it wasn’t a 4 hour drive from where we live, RK Transmissions would be our auto repair place.

Late last year I had some whirring noise in my GMC differential. Took it to Rob and they found that it needed an overhaul(230,000 miles). Did the repair and had it back to me in a couple days. Great service! A little over 3000 miles later had the same noise coming from the differential. Dropped it by RK Transmissions for them to check it out and they found out what the problem was. Sent off for the parts needed and it was repaired at no charge. It was covered under warranty. Rob and his crew are easy to work with and stand behind their work! Thanks Rob!
